Butter Tofu

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp. olive oil 
  • 1 block of extra firm tofu in cubes
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 3 chopped garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp. garam masala powder
  • 2 tbsp. curry powder
  • 3 tbsp. nutritional yeast 
  • 1 cam diced tomato
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 pinch  of cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  • In a hot skillet, melt the olive oil and brown the onion, garlic and the spices until spice are fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  • Add nutritional yeast, diced tomato coconut milk and cook for 5 minutes over high heat.
  • In the blender or a hand blend puree the tomato mixture. Add the cayenne pepper and mix.
  • Put the sauce back in the pan, add the tofu and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Season.
  • Serve your butter tofu recipe with rice.
